The Grape Seed Extract is What the World Knows as The Most Powerful Antioxidant

It is a well known fact today that antioxidants are one of the greatest tools the nature has given us to fight against the vagaries of aging. There are many terminal diseases that can be successfully countered by the intervention of the antioxidants on the free radicals. By the way, for those who do not know, the free radicals are what cause most of the cellular damage in our bodies, for which with the advancement of age, we become weaker and more prone to diseases.

Where Can We Find Antioxidants?

Fortunately for us, Mother Nature has given us a very potent weapon in the form of antioxidants. These are available all around us, in cabbage, broccoli, coffee beans, the orange juice we drink in the morning, carrots, pomegranate, kiwi fruit, the berry family, garlic, and the list can go on, but you get the idea. What is mentioned here is the tip of the iceberg, actually.

We really get the best portion of antioxidants from the foods we consume. For those who are not sure that they consume enough, you can always complement your diet with multivitamins, since it was found that some of the greatest antioxidants are vitamins E, C, and A.

Why the Grape Seed Extract is considered The Most Powerful Antioxidant on Earth?

The grape seed extract has one extremely potent ingredient called the OPC, or the oligomeric procynanidins which is indeed the most powerful antioxidant. A long time ago, in 1947 or about that time, a French professor discovered this antioxidant element in the skin of the peanut. Much later, some two decades later, it was learned that grape wine also has this ingredient.

This antioxidant being dubbed as the most powerful antioxidant has lived up to the expectations laid on it. It is an excellent antioxidant to fight cardio-vascular diseases such as heart blockage, thickening of arteries, cholesterol, and so on. Though as an antioxidant, it benefits the whole body, its specialization or so it seems from all the medical research studies done, lies in treating cardio vascular diseases. It is also known to greatly improve the circulation of blood.

Just to give you an idea as to why it is called the most powerful antioxidant, let me tell you that this extract is measured as 20 times more potent than vitamin C, and about 50 times more than vitamin E. Now this is something worth remembering, is it not?
